Homogeny

This series represents a collection of street imagery from disparate cities and neighbourhoods. Whether I am in my home town of Vancouver or traveling abroad, the many urban locations I have been fortunate to visit all offer a common backdrop. Typography and culture may vary, but the faces, situations and interplay always imply a unique story and circumstance that brought the particular scene to life. There is always a story behind the picture, sometimes obvious, suggested or often only imagined. I am drawn to people and places that express a mood or a circumstance, played out in passing or in studied observation.

Each of the images is meant to demonstrate a piece or imprint of humanity, whether between a couple or group or from a solitary, quiet reflection in an often overwhelming environment. I am grateful that my subject matter will never fade, and that there will always be compelling images and stories in whatever locale I find myself in the future.
